Rong Heting kissed the little girl in his arms over and over again. He held Mu Qianqian's head with both of his hands, not allowing her to escape in the slightest. The man's warm temperature wrapped around his shivering body. Rong Heting finally felt Mu Qianqian's response when the trembling gradually subsided and his soft body relaxed and really snuggled into his embrace.

When Rong Heting's soft tongue touched the warmth that invaded her territory, his entire body tensed up. He forced himself to endure his impulse, not wanting to scare the girl in his arms who had returned to normal.

"Qianqian, be good. You're not afraid. It's all in the past. It's all in the past now."

Mu Qianqian finally calmed down, feeling the warmth of the man beside her. Even though she knew she was in the hospital, she still couldn't control her tears.

Fear, anger, accusation, evasion, and finally, grievance filled her heart. Mu Qianqian buried her head into the man's chest, letting the tears flow freely. Her sparkling white hands tightly held onto the corner of Rong Heting's clothes, as if she was afraid that the charm and warmth in her hands would completely disappear if she let go.

Rong Heting was relieved when Mu Qianqian finally relaxed and snuggled into his arms. When Qianqian woke up, he was frightened. She looked like an empty body whose soul had been sucked out of her. It was as if a little pressure on her would make the weakest person stay away from him forever.

Rong Heting hugged the little girl in his arms painfully. This was the first time he regretted threatening her like before. He always knew that she was timid, so he always wanted to intimidate her when she was disobedient. He never wanted to make a mistake.

Thinking of Bai Sheng's words, Rong Heting's heart hurt even more. He had never given anything to a child that was related to her, just like how he did not reject having a child that was related to him by blood. But now, this faint hope had been personally destroyed by him, bit by bit.

Everyone was telling him to let Mu Qianqian go, but he didn't want to let her go just like that. Mu Qianqian who left him might have a better life, but what about him? Was he alone in the darkness and unable to escape? No! He would never let go! Mu Qianqian could only be his!

They didn't know how long they stayed in each other's arms until the nurse knocked on the door bravely. Only then did the two of them come back to their senses. Rong Heting put Mu Qianqian down and let her lie on the bed. After covering her with a blanket, he raised his head and instructed the door.

"Come in."

At the door, Mu Qianqian's attending physician led the medical team in a line but did not dare to approach the sickbed. The middle-aged uncle explained with a trembling voice, hoping that Young Master Di in Dongfeng would not get angry.

"Young Master Rong, Doctor Bai told Miss Qianqian to monitor her body's indexes before she left and requested for more nutrition liquid to be injected into her body. Do you want us to check on Miss Qianqian's condition first?"

Rong Heting looked at Mu Qianqian's pale face and stood up to give the seat in front of the bed. He didn't say anything, but his meaning was obvious.

The attending physician did not dare to delay any further. He hurriedly brought his assistants to check for Mu Qianqian. It wasn't until all the instruments had their results within the normal range that everyone was relieved. After the attending physician arranged for the nurse to inject the medicine, he led a room of trembling people and left. They all admired Mu Qianqian in their hearts. It wasn't easy for a little girl like her to face Young Master Rong every day, she had been sent to the hospital so many times already!

Mu Qianqian kept her head down. Although she was no longer as emotional, her heart was still in turmoil. Mu Qianqian obediently cooperated with the doctors' examinations. No one knew what she was thinking about.

She woke up. She wasn't dead! Mu Qianqian thought of the despair she'd felt when she'd fired that day. The sound of the bullet passing through the chamber seemed to be forever ringing in her ears. She remembered that Hua Yunrong and Rong Heting treated her like a plaything and wanted to share with her. She also remembered the panic in Rong Heting's eyes when she fell back after shooting.

Did he care about her? Otherwise, he wouldn't be afraid of her death, so wouldn't she be able to rely on this little bit of care and beg him to let her leave, beg him to quickly give her his uncle's bone marrow, and then never meet her again?

Mu Qianqian's heart became heavy again when she thought of leaving Rong Heting. A sharp pain suddenly came from the back of her hand, causing her to wake up from her thoughts. When she noticed the slightly swollen skin on the back of her hand, the corner of Mu Qianqian's lips slightly moved, unconsciously letting out a moan.

Seeing that Mu Qianqian was in so much pain, the nurse hurriedly apologized, "Sorry, Miss Qianqian, I'll call you again."

Mu Qianqian nodded obediently. She knew that it was because of her poor blood vessels that the nurse couldn't insert the needle into the needle at once. She watched as the nurse pulled the needle out from the back of her swollen hand.

However, the young nurse was still too nervous. She tried thrashing three more times, but still couldn't find Mu Qianqian's blood vessel. One of her small hands were pierced and riddled with holes. It was a heartbreaking sight. Just as the nurse was apologizing to Mu Qianqian once again, a cold voice came from behind.

"Switch over and tell the dean that if he still can't find a skilled nurse to give him acupuncture, he should pack his things and get out of the hospital."

Due to the doctors inspecting Mu Qianqian, Rong Heting gave up his seat and waited on the sofa. He held Mu Qianqian's books and carefully checked them one by one. He wasn't good at medicine, but he remembered simple medicine based on his intelligence that was above average.

When Mu Qianqian's first moan came out of her mouth, Rong Heting's gaze was attracted by this light breath. Rong Heting's anger had already risen when he saw the nurse stick the cold silver needle into Mu Qianqian's delicate hands again and again, and then fail to find the blood vessel every time. He didn't want to make the nurse afraid. Otherwise, it would still be his little thing that was going to suffer.

However, when that nurse apologized over and over again, when Rong Heting noticed the cold sweat on Mu Qianqian's forehead that was getting more and more concentrated, he could no longer control his anger after enduring for a long time. Did everyone in the hospital die? He dared to send this kind of nurse to give injections to his woman. Did the dean not want to continue working here?

"It seems like you're not suited to be a nurse. Pack your things so you don't have to appear in the hospital again."

Rong Heting's unclear words made the nurse, who was standing in front of Mu Qianqian, panic. Mu Qianqian, on the other hand, also understood the hidden anger in his tone.

Rong Heting didn't look at the nurse because of his thunderous expression. He came to Mu Qianqian's sickbed and sat her down. Then he picked up Mu Qianqian's soft body and let her sit on his lap. Then, his delicate body snuggled into his arms.
