The Wizard called Oz - HP

Centuries of Obsession

Centuries of Obsession

"The ghost I met before you was the grey lad-... no she doesn't like that name does she. Helena Ravenclaw is what I mean to say. Seeing as though she was a founder's direct daughter she seemed like a great place to start in order to gain information on Merlin".

Hearing his beloveds name and realising the boy in front of him had met her in person, the Baron's disposition changed from whimsical curiosity to pure obsessiveness. Oz decided at this point to go in for the kill.

"A lot of what you say coincides with what she told me actually. We had a long chat about her past in school when she was alive. What I was truly surprised about was that she asked me a favour before I left...".

Oz made it seem as though he was thinking out loud when in all honesty he wanted the Baron to hear these words. As Oz trailed off he floated closer to Oz and stared him directly in the eyes.

"W-w-what is it that my beloved wanted from you!? A favour!? M-maybe it's something I could help out with? Yes yes... If I help she may allow me to see her again!".

The Baron's excitement seemed to rise as he saw Oz as his light at the end of the tunnel. The Baron believed that by using this boy as an intermediary, he'd be able to help his beloved as well as learn what she's up to. Little does he know though that in fact he was the one being used.

"I don't mind telling you Baron... After all she asked me to get all the help I could as this task was difficult. You see, when I first talked to her she recounted the story of her life mentioning her life's biggest regret; stealing her mother's diadem. She wanted to enlist my help in finding the diadem so that her heart could be at peace. The one problem is though... she can't recount the exact location of where she left it... So, she's asked me to first find out any and all information about the diadem in the hopes of finding a method to track it down".

Hearing his beloveds dilemma, the Baron's eyes grew larger as his elatedness skyrocketed.

"I can actually help my beloved... I can actually help my beloved! Ambrosius! My dear dear fellow Slytherin! I have the information you seek! If I tell you all that I know about that diadem can you please let my beloved know that I was the one who helped her!? Maybe then she will see me again!".

Oz clapped his hands together as he looked at the Bloody Baron.

"Perfect! Finding this information so fast will only lead Helena to be that much more inclined to see whoever helped. Of course ill pass that information along Baron".

"THATS MISS HELENA TO YOU LAD".

The Baron's temper was truly something to behold seeing as though Oz set him off just by calling Helena by her first name. He ignored the Baron's anger as he proceeded to push for answers.

"So what is the information on the diadem then? The sooner I can pass this information along the better".

"Ah right right where do I begin... As my beloved probably told you our dance of love ended in tragedy. Her heart was bewitched by something that led her astray from me. Just before I was about to profess my love to her she herself vanished from the school. Distraught I sought out her mother who I pleaded to let me go look for her. Rowena seeing my desperation told me how I could find her".

"Rowena's diadem... she placed a tracker on it that could be activated using a spell created by her herself... She entrusted me with this information along with the details about how the diadem was gone in the first place. The incantation I believe...".

Taking a second to collect himself the Baron continued.

"The incantation that Rowena created was: 'Quaerite et invenietis eum diadema et hoc est meum'... The best way I found to use this spell was to enchant it onto something that could 'point' in a direction. I'd use it on sticks and the stick would fall in the direction of where the diadem and my beloved was...".

As Oz heard the incantation and the way to use it two things came to mind. One was:

'Jesus thats a long incantation...'.

and two was:

'So to use it efficiently you need to use it on something that can 'point' in a direction. Seems all I need is a compass'.

The Baron kept on rambling giving as much detail as possible about the diadem even going as far as to describe how it looked, how many gems it had, why it was shaped the way it was. He took Oz's request of 'any and all' information too literally. Seeing that he wouldn't stop until told to, Oz butted into his long description.

"Thank you Baron for this information! Seeing your devotion to H- Miss Helena has truly moved me so I think its best I head there now and tell her all of this information. The information about how to track it down with be especially important to her... you may actually have a chance of doing more than just seeing her again".

Oz started to head towards the door as the Baron fervently thanked Oz. He flew in front of Oz as he headed into the Slytherin common room, essentially ushering him along.

"Ambrosius... Mingling with ghosts now? I knew you were a loner but this is beyond sad!".

Calling out to Oz was Draco who was sat on a couch with his two henchmen Crabb and Goyle next to him both of whom were looking very nervous. It seemed to Oz that Draco desperately wanted to insult Oz all this time especially considering the trouble Oz has put his father through, however it seemed he only felt comfortable insulting Oz when he had his 'bodyguards' with him. Before Oz could even reply though the Bloody Baron had flew over directly in front of Draco.

"DON'T YOU DARE DISTURB HIM YOU SCUM!"

The viciousness in the Baron's words startled everyone in the common room as he bellowed at Draco. The boy in question shrunk back in his chair with his two 'bodyguards' fainting. Oz looked on in amusement as he decided to just continue onwards without a word.

.

As Oz reached the stairs to the second floor the Baron came to a stop behind him.

"Don't you forget to put in a good name for me Oz! I want all the details as soon as possible when you get back!".

Watching the ghost 'dance' off gleefully Oz sighed to himself.

'He really is annoying... his talent at bullshitting as well reminds me of a certain someone too... I wonder if he's his ancestor'.

Shrugging his shoulders Oz started his journey towards to Room of Requirement, It was high time that he secured this diadem.

A/N - just thought I'd add this little note. I've been debating for a bit now whether or not I should make a discord server for this novel (just a place to chat and bounce ideas around) if this paragraph gets enough comments saying it's a good idea then I'll look into doing it, if not then I'll leave the idea be. Thanks all for reading :)
