The Wizard called Oz - HP

Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley

Finally the day had arrived, the day in which Oz would be taken to Diagon Alley by Professor Mcgonagall, the day in which he would get his first wand and pet. As fate would have it, today was also his birthday making him 11, completely ready to buy a wand. Hogwarts truly does have an impressive intelligence network.

Even though Oz usually keeps himself calm and collected, even he was showing a childlike excitement at the prospect of visiting such a magical place.

Mcgonagall came by the Orphanage and picked Oz up, telling the Orphanage that he would be gone now until the summer of next year. The reason for this was that since the school term was so close, Mcgonagall had arranged accommodation for Oz in the Leaky Cauldron for the last few weeks leading up to his school year. She did this as Oz lives too far out from London and since he doesn't have any magical folk around him to help him get to London, he needed to stay in London so as not to be late for the Hogwarts train.

Oz was feeling very excited also as just yesterday he had finally managed to procure a book on the human anatomy in a shop nearby the Orphanage, allowing for him to make strides in his creation of the augment spell he wanted to make, the full spell however wouldn't be ready to test until he's at Hogwarts and has a certain room to use to practice it.

So, Mcgonagall apparated Oz to London, taking him into a secluded area just away from the Orphanage to do so, and led him through the leaky cauldron to a familiar looking wall.

"Mr Oz, I will be letting you into Diagon Alley soon, heres the money from the school you'll need to use to buy your supplies. I'll lead you to buy what you need then after I'll lead you into the Leaky Cauldron and get you booked in with your accommodation for the last few weeks leading up to your Hogwarts departure".

Oz looked up to Mcgonagall with a sincere look of gratitude on his usually cold-looking countenance and responded "Thank you for the help Professor".

Mcgonagall replied with a smile and tapped a rhythm onto the bricks opening up Diagon Alley in Oz's view. Oz stood in wonder and excitement, seeing the bustling street littered with people in front of him.

'This is where my journey will truly begin'.

.

"Now then Mr. Oz, shall we head off?"

As Mcgonagall went to walk with Oz, Oz stopped her quickly.

"Actually Mrs. Mcgonagall I'd like to shop on my own if you wouldn't mind..."

Mcgonagall looked at Oz in slight confusion before letting off a stifled sigh.

"Kids these days wanting to do things on their own... fine I'll allow it. But if you get stuck even for a second or return to me with items missing from the list then Ill never allow you such a luxury again".

Smiling, Oz looked up to Mcgonagall and thanked her, he then started walking down the alley. Since he was on his own he had more time to take in the sights and scenery of Diagon Alley, he felt oddly nostalgic looking at all the shops he was passing, remembering when he first watched the films and saw this alley behind a screen. Now however he was here in the flesh.

Oz had cheated Hogwarts here a bit, the money they gave him was to be able to pay for his school supplies, however, the Lovegood's already gave him all the main Hogwarts books he needs. Maybe the odd miscellaneous book would be needed down the line in later years, however for Year 1 there was no need to buy any more books. Oz's first destination in the alley was Gringotts to finally trade in the money he had saved over the years from pickpocketing anyone on the streets near his Orphanage and when on trips.

Oz walked up to Gringotts, read the famous lines on the entrance that basically translate to 'DONT STEAL WE HAVE A DRAGON' and entered. Luckily for Oz, It wasn't a long time spent in Gringotts. After trading in the money he had, he netted around 200 galleons, a decent sum of money for a soon to be 11 year old and after trading the money he opened a vault for himself within Gringotts under the name 'Oz'. As he was exiting, Oz did notice a desk in the many Gringotts hall that dealt with investments and muggle investments seemed to be there also.

'This could be a good way to grow my funds, using my knowledge of my past life, I know brands that will be successful in the years to come. There is a chance of the butterfly effect being present however and maybe such brands wont be as big in this world, however, with the residue money I have it'll be worth a shot to buy some of the ones I recognise. Besides the modern brands, the company that made the firebolt was said to have a meteoric rise in the original canon, obviously because of the firebolt being made. That should be the safest bet to invest in'.

Oz left the Bank with a smile on his face, another plan formed and ready to act upon in the coming weeks before his enrolment.

.

After visiting Gringotts, Oz headed for The Magical Menagerie in order to get himself a pet. He was planning on getting himself an Owl as in the future, he'd like to at least make a few friends to send messages to and an Owl would allow him to send messages from anywhere, even if he ends up stuffed back in that Orphanage next year.

Oz entered the shop and immediately locked eyes with an owl that was just what he wanted, the Owl in question was a Screech Owl with a pure black coat of feathers and bright blue eyes which mirrored Oz's own hair and eyes. Oz wasn't much of an animal expert in his previous life, but he did know that Screech Owls had a very interesting quirk to them which was that they actually kidnap snakes, taking them to their nests to raise as pets. Such a ballsy and curious animal was right up Oz's alley.

So, Oz bought the Screech Owl and brought it outside onto the street in its cage. Looking down at the Owl, Oz gave a warm smile.

"We'll be in each others care friend, as for your name I think I'll call you Kuro... sorry friend my naming sense always sucked".

Thankfully for Oz, the cute owl didn't seem to mind its new name chirping happily at the name it had received.

Oz then proceeded to go about getting all his other supplies he needed from the list, leaving the thing he was looking forward to the most to last. Finally, as he had gathered all his supplies and put them in his pouch, he looked up at a familiar looking shop.

[Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.]

'Finally, I can receive my wand'.
