Chasing After My Wife

NOTE: I AM REALLY SORRY EVERYONE. I WAS HAVING SOME GLITCHES IN MY END AND MY CHAPTERS WEREN'T RELEASED CORRECTLY. I HAD TO SORT OUT MY CHAPTERS MANUALLY USING THE NOTES IN MY NOTEBOOK.

A military personnel sent the things Valkyrie asked in the middle of the night. The man didn't stay for long. He just left right after sending the things that was asked of him.     

Valkyrie didn't invite him over tea as well. They have more important things to do than having a tea party.     

Savannah and Hawk weren't sleeping as well. They have been checking the monitors while waiting for the things to arrive. When Valkyrie knocked on the door, Savannah happily opened it and saw a duffel bag.     

"I thought it would be just accessories." she stated while eyeing the bag.     

"I don't know what's inside either. Let's check on it." Valkyrie responded. He unzipped the bag and found several things with a note inside it.     

WE ADDED SOME THINGS THAT MIGHT BE OF HELP. -Calhoun     

"Oh. It's our Major General who prepared this things." Savannah said after reading the note. She set it aside and picked up the items one by one.     

The earing was placed on a separate small box. The stud was really heavy and Savannah felt it would be a nice thing to throw at someone's forehead.     

The necklace was also placed on a different box. When she held the pendant, it was like a real sword - just a mini version of it. She even tried putting it on and she could feel the weight hanging over her neck.     

Next, she pulled out the unique belt. It was like a silver thin rope when you look at it with a unique dragon buckle as a design. However, when you touched it, you can feel the rough surface that can wound someone if you hit them.     

"These things are so cool? Why didn't let us use these before?" Savannah couldn't help but ask.     

"What I've heard it that, it was our Lieutenant Colonel who asked someone to design these stuff. She was supposed to use this on her mission but she felt that someone needed it the most which is a great thing. Even if we fought together against her, we wouldn't win." Valkyrie responded while pulling out a white button-up blouse.     

"Jesus! How the hell did she come up with these ideas?!" Valkyrie exclaimed when he saw that the buttons on the bouse were real gun bullets. He couldn't just get it how the process worked.     

Savannah took the blouse and touched the buttons. She rummaged through the bag and found a small gun that would fit enough in the boots that she found earlier.     

"She's really a genius." Hawk stated in awe. Somehow, he felt a little confidence in this mission after getting the stuff for Savannah.     

There were three different color of blouse with different embroidery but the buttons were all real bullets.     

She also found a ring that looks ordinary to her eyes. When she pulled it our from the case, a note fell on her lap.     

"PRESS THE LITTLE BLACK STUD TO OPEN IT AND PRESS THE LITTLE BLUE STUD TO CLOSE IT."     

Savannah didn't know what it was for but when she followed the instructions, a very thin metal showed up. She didn't even know how it ended being locked up but it was so cool for her. She took out a small stack of used papers and sliced on it.     

"Cool!" Savannah said with clear admiration. The stack of papers were cut in half and a scratch mark was left on the floor. "These things are just amazing. I'll practice using these tomorrow."     

"Alright. Let's check the remaining items tomorrow. For now, let's take a rest." Hawk added.     

"Sure. Good night to the both of you." Valkyrie responded before leaving their room.     

At the same time...     

"I can't sleep." Jillyanna murmured while facing Travis. His hand was holding her waist and his chin was resting on her head. "Tell me a story or sing a song again."     

"Do you want to hear the things I did after I left?" Travis asked her. He was very sleepy already but he didn't want to sleep when she's still awake and uncomfortable.     

Jillyanna heard his sleepy voice so she just refused it. "Just tell me about it on another day. I think I'm getting sleepy now." she stated a lie. She knew how much effort he was putting up for her sake and it made her felt guilty knowing that he still need to take care of her.     

"Are you sure? If you can't really sleep, just tell me." Travis told her before placing a gentle kiss on her head.     

"Thank you." Jillyanna raised her head and whispered. "Thank you so much." she kissed his jaw and snuggled closer to him. "I love you, Travis."     

Her last words made him open his eyes fully and he pushed her a little so that he can see her face. Jillyanna was clearly startled but she just stared back directly at him.     

"Did I hear it clearly? Was I dreaming or did you really say it?" he asked her with slightly shaken voice.     

"I think you're dreaming cause I didn't say anything." Jillyanna lied again because she was too embarrass to admit it.     

"I see. I found it unbelievable myself." Travis commented before pulling her back in his arms. "Sorry if I startled you."     

"Hn."     

She couldn't bring herself to say another word so she just hugged him back to sleep. She didn't know how long she stayed awake but she was able to calm herself and sleep beside him.     

"Can you find your father for me?" A very familiar voice echoed in her mind. "I want to know if he's doing fine."     

Jillyanna crunched up her brows and she started crying while asleep.     

"Mom. Don't go please." she murmured which made Travis woke up beside her. The sun wasn't up yet and he could hear her sniffing beside him.     

"Mommy. Daddy. Dad don't go!" Jillyanna shouted and reached our her arms as if to stop them from leaving.     

Watching her crying in her sleep pained him so much. He knew that Jillyanna blamed him and his mother when Elizabeth died. In all honesty, he was to blame as well.     

He took hold of her hands and kissed her knuckles. "Jill, I'm here. I'll take care of you."
